Language shapes the way we think

Which is cool but, who likes to be told what to do and how to think?

Certainly not I said the (blank)

So the Artists' Dictionary is a place to play with language and create words to describe places, feelings, people, things etc. that are perhaps not yet named. It is also a place to bring forth old forgotten words that still bear relevance. 

The goals of this dictionary are to practice

A. Creativity

B. Thoughtful speech and conversation

C. Connection through collaborative playfulness

D. Respect for ancient languages

The game is called IVOIEB (eee-voy-b) and the rules are simple; Make up a new word (you can even create new letters), lay it down on the board, give it a definition+pronunciation and voila, presto, bingo, y'betchya've got a whole new vocabulary to express yourself with! Any scrabble board will do or skip the board altogether and make up some words! 

Sverioqorwic - The bits of wax left over at the end of a candle that never burned.

Chumtoshnk - A loaf of bread made from the crumbs of another.

Jenitoe - When you fold and tear a piece of paper and there is a little tail that evaded your rip; That little tail is called the jenitoe.

Gondalot - When someone is gone a lot.

Sirln - The meat surrounding the hoof of a horse.

Peebay - When you're making ebay bids on the toilet.

Oxtafnu - The dust collects in a spot you'll never reach.

Hewao - A word that originated in space (coined by astronauts) to describe freeze dried food that was good but didn't hit the spot like a home cooked meal. The word is now commonly used to describe something that is good but not quite like the original.
